For eight years, Brian has been helping people relieve chronic tension and pain using a multi-faceted holistic approach. Knowing that pain doesn’t always originate in the exact location where it is perceived, he helps his clients find resolution by addressing both the physical-mechanical aspects of what is creating discomfort, as well as the emotional-energetic aspects. He encourages his clients to listen to their bodies so they can further understand their experiences and supports and guides them toward quality of life.
After a meandering journey working in photography, followed by several years of doing manual labor, he experienced two traumatic injuries that led him to physical therapy. It was during this time that he realized he could combine his mechanical mind and hardworking hands to healthier use. Instead of installing new plumbing systems, he imagined that he could help people align their bodies, so they could improve the way they feel and heal. This idea inspired him to enroll at the Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy in the fall of 2010.
Brian has eagerly learned all that he can, training in multiple bodywork modalities including Neuromuscular Technique, Myofascial Release, Upledger’s Cranio-Sacral Therapy, and Somato-Emotional Release, Polarity Therapy, Reiki, Quantum Touch, and Shamanic practices. He is specially trained to work with jaw (TMJ) issues, such as clenching, grinding, popping or other dental issues. Any and all of these modalities may be used in a single session, to optimize his client’s experience.
In addition to providing bodywork, Brian also enjoys leading personal growth and self-empowerment classes both privately and publicly. For the past several years, he has also been involved with in the ManKind Project, a nonprofit organization that provides personal development programs for men.
A little more about Brian
Brian was born and raised in Metro Detroit. In his early 20’s he moved out west, traversing Portland, Seattle, San Francisco followed by a short stay in New England. He returned to Michigan for 8 years to pursue his career in massage and build his first private practice in Ann Arbor.
He followed his long-time calling and recently moved to Colorado. He hasn’t wasted any time and is already exploring the mountains and nature, and all the beautiful richness our state has to offer. When not in the office, you will likely find Brian outside hiking, biking, playing in or near water, often with a camera by his side. He loves playing music, dancing, and continuing to grow personally and spiritually. He is honored and thrilled to be offering his services in his new community.
